MUSYCA Children's Choir performed at Carnegie Hall on April 10, 2017. The singers traveled to New York to participate in the Carnegie Hall Children's Choir Festival. When not busy rehearsing or performing, the choir toured Manhattan and visited many points of interest in NYC, including the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, 9/11 Memorial, the Wall Street, the Rockefeller Center and the Top of the Rock, Central Park and Times Square.
The singers attended a new Broadway musical, Anastasia and had a guided tour of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Of course, the highlight of this NYC tour was the choir's outstanding performance at the famed Carnegie Hall. The exciting and challenging repertoire for this concert included music as diverse as an excerpt from Vivaldi's "Magnificat" and Irving Berlin's "Blue Skies" and featured a premiere of a choral work by Judy Herrington, Stars Tonight, commissioned especially for this performance.
