MUSYCA Spring Choral Concert was a great finale to a wonderful season! The sold out concert took place in the sanctuary of Shomrei Torah Synagogue in West Hills. The audience was treated to the beautiful voices of all MUSYCA's vocal ensembles: Harmony Choir, Melody Choir, Junior Chorus, and KinderChoir. Dr. Mikhail Shtangrud, Vanessa Palomino and Grace Doyle conducted, Dr. Anna Krendel accompanied on the piano and Beto Hale played the drums.
Thank you to all the singers, parents and volunteers who made the concert such a resounding success!
The program's highlights included KinderChoir's performance of Los pollitos dicen, Junior Chorus' rendition of Let's Go Fly a Kite, Melody's playful take on Rossini's Duetto buffo di due gate (Cat Duet) and Harmony Ensemble's stunning How Can I Keep from Singing and Will You Walk a Little Faster.
Harmony's powerful performance of City Called Heaven featured MUSYCA's talented faculty members, Ms. Vanessa and Ms. Grace as soloists.
Junior Chorus and Melody Ensemble joined together in singing Beethoven's Ode To Joy, while Melody and Harmony ensembles teamed in the performances of El Vito and One Note Samba. The concert closed with all MUSYCA choirs singing Little Wheel.
It was an emotional event, as the choir said good-bye to three of its senior members. We celebrate our wonderful graduating High School seniors and wish them much success it college and beyond!
Have a great summer, and...
Sing on!
