MUSYCA's Young Men’s Chorus (YMC) provides advanced vocal training and performance opportunities for high school-age students and is designed for changed Tenor and Bass male voices. The stylistically and culturally varied repertoire is carefully selected for this age group.
This touring ensemble combines with the Harmony Choir to learn and perform choral literature for mixed voices. In addition to its regular Monday night rehearsal, the students attend a combined practice approximately once every three weeks on a pre-scheduled basis. Extra pre-concert rehearsals are required.
The group performed at Carnegie Hall and the White House, appeared on NBC's TV show The Voice, ABC's Fresh off the Boat, Netflix's The OA, sang on the soundtrack of the motion picture "Boy Erased," and recorded music in collaboration with leading musical artists and composers. Recent concert tours include Greece, Spain, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan.
