MUSYCA Appears on Nickelodeon's Nick News

In a recent episode of Nickelodeon's Nick News, TV viewers were treated to a special performance by the MUSYCA Children's Choir. Season 3, Episode 10, which aired on December 20, 2023, delved into the origins of Christmas traditions, shining a spotlight on the Catalan custom of Caga Tió.

MUSYCA singers brought a beautiful musical moment to the episode, enchanting audiences with their beautiful rendition of the carol, Caga Tió, in the original Catalan language. One of the singers also explained the meaning of the song to the Nick News hosts.

Originating from Catalonia, Spain, Caga Tió, also known as the "pooping log," is a unique and whimsical Christmas custom. Families gather around a wooden log adorned with a smiling face and place it in their homes. Starting on December 8, they "feed" the log with treats and goodies every night until Christmas Eve. On the special night, children sing traditional songs, including "Caga Tió" and "beat" the log with sticks, encouraging it to "poop" presents. It's a charming and lighthearted tradition that adds a touch of merriment to the holiday season.

It's not the first time that MUSYCA Children's Choir students performed on the Nickelodeon network. MUSYCA had already left a lasting impression on Nickelodeon viewers by performing at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards. The choir's return to the network, this time on Nick News Season 3, Episode 10, showcased the versatility of MUSYCA singers and the network's appreciation for their exceptional musical talents.
