MUSYCA Children's Choir, with Dr. Mikhail Shtangrud conducting and Dr. Anna Krendel at the piano performed at the 57th annual LA County Holiday Celebration at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on Saturday, December 24, 2016. The show was televised live on the local PBS stations at 3:00PM, with repeat broadcast at 9:00PM. The concert was also aired on December 25 at noon.

We started our performance with the beautiful “Sabbath Prayer” from the musical Fiddler of the Roof, with music by Jerry Bock and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick. "May the Lord protect and defend you, may He always shield you from shame." The choir continued with two short selections from Benjamin Britten’s Ceremony of Carols – “As Dew in Aprille” and “This Little Babe”. These two movements are traditionally performed as one, as the composer intended, juxtaposing the beauty and serenity of the manger scene with the battle between good and evil on this special night.
