MUSYCA to perform at Carnegie Hall on June 21

LOS ANGELES — MUSYCA will perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at 8:30 p.m., presenting an all-American choral program in recognition of America 250, the nationwide commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

The performance will feature a combined ensemble of MUSYCA singers, members of the Burbank Chorale, MUSYCA alumni, and parents, conducted by Dr. Mikhail Shtangrud and accompanied by pianist Dr. Anna Krendel. The intergenerational choir brings together youth and adult voices from the Los Angeles area for a concert celebrating American musical traditions.

The performance follows several recent MUSYCA artistic projects, including participation in the Camp Flog Gnaw Festival with Dominic Fike and Kevin Abstract, classical choral-orchestral music collaborations with the Los Angeles Virtuosi Orchestra, an appearance at the Peabody Awards, and collaborative recordings with musical artists and composers.

Carnegie Hall, one of the world’s most recognized concert venues, has hosted leading musicians and ensembles for over a century. The June 21 performance offers participating singers an opportunity to perform on an internationally renowned stage as part of a national celebration.

The performance is presented as part of the Manhattan Concert Productions Carnegie Hall Debut Series, which will also include performances by the Metropolis Brass Quintet, the Florida Symphony Youth Orchestras (Charles Watford, conductor), and the Greater Princeton Youth Orchestra (Joseph Pucciatti, conductor).

Founded in 2010, MUSYCA is a Los Angeles-based choral organization serving children, youth, and adults through music education and performance opportunities. The organization offers multiple ensembles and regularly presents concerts throughout Southern California while participating in national and international performance tours.

The concert will take place on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at 8:30 p.m. at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
