This Thursday, April 16, Los Angeles hosts the first live public performance of Too Alive — a new kind of concert experience that blends live music, theatrical storytelling, choral performance, and AI-driven narrative into one evolving stage production.
Built in real time with audience support, this premiere represents the first realized version of a much larger creative vision. Instead of a traditional fixed show, Too Alive continues to develop right up to performance night, shaped in part by streaming ticket sales and community participation.
A human performer bringing Chaisen to life
At the center of the concert is Chaisen Hale, a character created through a collaboration between human artistry and artificial intelligence.
On stage, Chaisen is physically performed by John Victor, a real human performer who embodies the character in movement, acting, and presence. Alongside him, Chaisen’s voice remains a primary musical and narrative element throughout the show.
This creates a dual experience:
A human body performing Chaisen in real time
A distinct voice identity that defines Chaisen’s sound
Together, they form a single character expressed through two forms — physical and digital — working in coexistence throughout the performance.
MUSYCA joins the production
The internationally recognized MUSYCA Children's Choir is part of the performance, bringing a powerful live choral presence to the stage.
MUSYCA has performed at venues such as Carnegie Hall, the White House, and Walt Disney Concert Hall, and has appeared in major national broadcasts and Grammy-nominated projects.
In Too Alive, their voices provide a human foundation within a production that also explores digital identity and new performance technology.
Live band and rock-opera format
A live band (to be announced) anchors the musical world of the show. Together with choir, lead performers, and vocal layers, the concert unfolds as a rock-opera-style narrative.
Music, video, and staging are fully integrated, creating a continuous performance rather than separate concert segments.
A concert shaped by its audience
One of the defining features of Too Alive is that it is being built with its audience.
Streaming ticket sales and donations directly influence the scale and development of the production. This means the audience is not only attending the concert — they are helping shape what it becomes.
The core idea
At its heart, Too Alive explores what happens when human performance and artificial voice exist side by side on stage.
With John Victor embodying Chaisen physically, Chaisen’s voice carrying the primary vocal identity, MUSYCA providing live choral depth, and a live band driving the music, the performance becomes a layered collaboration between:
human and digital, body and voice, story and sound.
